Give your padel practice one clear goal

A practical way to work on padel technique: choose a shot, ask for a cue, practise deliberately and review a comparable clip.

01

Name the situation

Instead of “get better at padel”, describe a recurring situation: a rushed volley, an overhead that feels inconsistent, or a serve you struggle to repeat. Specific situations make it easier to ask useful questions.

02

Choose a cue with your coach

Ask a qualified coach to help you choose a manageable technique cue. Trying several corrections at once makes it hard to tell what helped. Keep your practice comfortable and pause if something hurts.

03

Give it a small block of attention

Make time for a short, repeatable drill that fits the cue. Use an agreed feed with your practice partner and take breaks. Notice whether you can repeat the movement, rather than judging the entire session by one spectacular shot.

04

Review the process

After practice, write down what you worked on, what felt different and what remains confusing. A short video can give your next coaching conversation a concrete reference.

05

Try the situation in play

A drill and a match are different environments. Look for a suitable moment to use the cue in play, then discuss the result at your next lesson. Improvement rarely follows a straight line, so avoid judging it from a single match.
